Lawn Care Tips Save Water During Indiana Drought

With some Indiana residents being asked to┬ástop watering their lawns this week, some are wondering how to save their grass. The Indianapolis Department of Waterworks says it pumped 215 million gallons of water Tuesday and expects to exceed that amount Wednesday. On an average day it will pump 140 million gallons. Residents who live outside of Indianapolis are not facing that restriction yet, but some services have been cut back. In Carmel, water softening has been suspended, and the water company there is asking customers to be judicious about water usage. Lawns need about an inch of water a week.
