Peru will benefit from $54 million HUD grant

Peru is among 13 communities in Indiana that will share a nearly $1 million credit to help low-income families. U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan announced the grant for 13 public housing agencies on Thursday. It totals $913,571. It will allow public housing agencies to work with welfare agencies, schools and businesses, to help families with the necessary education and job training to put them on the path to self-sufficiency.
