What Can I Do For Holiday Fun Back Home Again In Indiana?
It’s December… soon the kiddos will be out for Christmas vacation…the family will be arriving to eat your food and sleep in your beds (I mean; dine with you and spend a quality few days with you!)… So what can we do for fun with them?!
Indiana has so many offerings this time of year and we would like to pass along a few for your enjoyment. We’ll start with the Kokomo area, some of which I’ve experienced first hand and enjoyed with my family:
We Care Park: Located at the corner of Gano & Lafountain Streets on the northside of Kokomo. Open daily at dusk. Free will donations accepted. Display continues through Dec. 27.
This display boasts more than 1 million lights! You can either walk the pathways or drive through. Santa and Mrs. Claus usually make an appearance and at the end of your walk, you can warm up with cocoa and cookies. In years past, children can pick out a stuffed animal off the tree to take home.
Sharpsville Lights: www.sharpsvillelights.com/ – You may have to wait in line; but this display is super cool and worth the wait! The shows run throughFriday December 30 and will last 45 minutes. Hours are 6-10:00 (Mon-Thu) and 6-11:00 (Fri-Sun). There is a free will donation that benefits We Care. Click on the link provided for all of the details. You stay in your vehicle for this one.
Marion Walkway of Lights: www.walkwayoflights.org/ – Wow… just wow! Almost 4 miles long and more that 2.5 million lights, your crew will not be disappointed! It’s on the riverwalk and you can choose to walk it; but many enjoy the displays from the comfort of their cars. At the end of the display is a gift shop where you can enjoy a hot beverage such as coffee, hot chocolate or fresh apple cider. Refreshments are also available, including brownies and delicious cookies. While sampling the tasty refreshments, browse the crafts and ornaments available for purchase.
